Lykke Li’s acoustic ballad “I Know Places” had a melody and title that reminded us of the classic Talking Heads track “This Must Be The Place”. So we decided to flip both for this remix.

One day I had both of these songs stuck in my head. My brain inevitably started overlapping the two, I liked the results, so I decided to transfer the pairing to the real world. “Alone Again” is infamous for being one of the landmark “hip hop sample clearance” cases from back in the day and Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” is infamous for just being one of the best reggae songs ever. The blend is over two years old now but I think it still holds up.

Proving a perfect match in both content and chord progression, we give Madonna’s often neglected (by DJs at least) “Like A Virgin” an update for the club by pairing it with Snoop Dogg’s “Sexual Eruption” (aka “Sensual Seduction” for the radio).
